大阪公立大学（仮称）英語名称のお知らせ
公立大学法人大阪は、2022年4月に開学予定の大阪公立大学（仮称・設置認可申請中）の英語名称をOsaka Metropolitan University（tentative name）に決定する運びとなりました。
2021年3月12日（金）、あべのメディックスにて西澤理事長、辰巳砂学長予定者らによる会見が開かれ、西澤理事長は「大阪公立大学は、新たな英語名称“Osaka Metropolitan University”のもと、大阪大学との連携をより強化しながら、“大阪発、世界レベルの高度研究型大学”としてグローバルに活躍の場を広げてまいりたい」とコメントしました。
大都市大阪に位置する日本最大規模の公立大学である強みを活かし、大阪の「知の拠点」となるよう行政と連携を図りながら、新たな大学を築き上げてまいります。
Announcement of the English Name of a New University
[in Japanese: 大阪公立大学 (tentative name)]
University Public Corporation Osaka has determined the name of the new university to be opened in April 2022 (undergoing approval) by the merger of Osaka Prefecture University and Osaka City University, to be Osaka Metropolitan University（tentative name）.
On Friday, March 12, 2021, Chairman Nishizawa and Prospective President Tatsumisago held a press conference at Abeno Medical Building. Chairman Nishizawa commented, “The new university, with its new English name ‘Osaka Metropolitan University,’ will further strengthen its ties with Osaka University and expand its global activities as a world-class, advanced research university originating in Osaka.”
Taking advantage of being one of the largest public universities in Japan, located in the metropolitan city of Osaka, we will build a new university in cooperation with the government and foster a “hub of knowledge” in Osaka.
